ABOUT ME
I’m Hannah, an integrated Acupuncturist, with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading - one of the most respected institutions in the field.
I am fully insured, licensed and accredited by the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), committed to continuous professional development. .throughout my career.
MY TREATMENT SPACE
I work from my garden room in Long Ashton, Bristol a separate space solely designated to my treatments. It will be your dedicated space during your appointment, with a private bathroom, area to change and you are more than welcome to use my driveway to park. Roadside parking is also available.
It is a few minutes walk from the centre of the village, a 12 minute drive from Nailsea and Bristol City Centre, and 20 minutes from Clevedon and Portishead.
I am deeply committed to making you feel heard, and at ease from the moment you walk in, and deeply relaxed by the time you leave.
MY APPROACH
YOUR FIRST VISIT
Your first session is a chance for us to get acquainted. We'll have a relaxed conversation about your health history and how you're feeling, and I'll gently explore how you manage the ups and downs of daily life, all to build a fuller picture of you as a whole person.
As part of this, I will ask to look at your tongue, feel your pulse at the wrist, and gently palpate certain areas of the body, all simple, painless ways of gaining a deeper understanding of what's going on.
This is the longest appointment (typically around an hour and a half) and I'll talk you through everything as we go, so you feel relaxed and at ease throughout.
YOUR TREATMENTS
Every treatment is uniquely tailored to your individual constitution and needs, drawing on 3,000 years of Chinese medicine wisdom alongside a thorough understanding of modern physiology and evidence-based practice.
Alongside acupuncture, I may incorporate other traditional techniques such as moxibustion, gua sha and cupping. These are tested therapies that can be remarkably effective for a wide range of today's health concerns.
FREQUENCY
Everyone's journey is different. Some people find that just a couple of sessions make a real difference, while others benefit from regular weekly treatments over a longer period.
We'll talk through what's right for you at your first appointment and put a plan together that will work for your needs.
Please be assured that if at any time I feel that acupuncture is not right for you, I will not prolong the treatment unnecessarily.
FAQS
-
Most people are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable acupuncture is. The needles used are extremely fine (far thinner than a hypodermic needle!) and insertion is usually painless. You may feel a mild tingling, warmth, or a gentle aching sensation around the needle site, which is a positive sign that the treatment is working.
-
Yes. Only single-use, sterile, disposable needles are used - they are never reused. Acupuncture is a very safe therapy when carried out by a qualified and insured practitioner, such as myself.
-
Your first appointment will include a detailed consultation, during which I will ask about your main concerns, medical history, lifestyle, and general health. This allows me to build a complete picture of your health and tailor the treatment specifically to you. The consultation is followed by your first acupuncture treatment.
-
Acupuncture can be used to support a wide range of conditions, including chronic and acute pain, stress and anxiety, digestive issues, sleep problems, fatigue, fertility, menstrual and menopausal symptoms, allergies, and much more. It can also be used as a preventative therapy to maintain general health and wellbeing.
-
This varies from person to person and depends on the nature and duration of your condition. Some people notice significant improvements after just a few sessions, while chronic or long-standing conditions may benefit from a longer course of treatment. Following your initial consultation, I will discuss a personalised treatment plan with you.
